Off Peak Singles Ladder

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the off-peak tennis format which for the start of this year we are introducing a Ladder format rather than the previous 3 Box Leagues with all players in the same ladder.

All players will be placed on a ladder. Players may challenge opponents up to four positions above them. If the lower-ranked player beats the higher-ranked player, they will take that position on the ladder and all affected players will move down accordingly.

Please see the rules below:

Ladder Rules

The matches consist Two Short Sets + Match Tiebreak

Format

2 sets to 4 games

Tiebreak at 3–3

Match tiebreak to 10 if sets are tied

Players may challenge up to 4 positions higher than their current ranking.

A player who declines or ignores a challenge will lose (forfeit) by default.

Challenges are considered ignored if neither accepted nor declined within 7 days.

The challenger may withdraw an ignored challenge at any time without penalty.

Accepted challenges will auto-expire if the match result is not submitted within 10 days.

When a lower-ranked player defeats a higher-ranked player, the lower-ranked player takes the higher position and the defeated player is bumped down one position.

When a higher-ranked player defeats a lower-ranked player, ladder positions remain unchanged.

Inactive players with no challenges or results within 40 days will be automatically removed from the ladder.

Once a challenge has been accepted, either player may submit the result, but it is the winner’s responsibility to submit the result as soon as possible after the match.

To see the ladder please look at the MyCourts section of the website and click 'ladders'

This is a trial event and we’d very much welcome your feedback on how this works for you and any adjustment/changes that you think would be helpful.

If you have any questions about the format or rules, please let us know. We look forward to seeing how the ladder system works this term!
